Day 35: Grazing

Here’s a Vizsla.

I know a lot of people are staying in touch via telephone and Zoom, but what on Earth do they all have to talk about? Even those who are still working (and thus presumably engaged mentally, or at least being productive) must find it tricky, don’t they? My own days are so devoid of activity aside from daily rituals that I can barely think of a single topic to discuss during these conversations. (Brushing my teeth is big news.) The thing is, I need the human contact of these chats so I make the call, but then realize that my brain is a blank. I have nothing to report, and my attention span is now about eight to ten seconds, so I can’t be counted on to be engaged, either. Despite all that, I look forward to scheduled meetings with my daughters and my friends, and my daily chats with Small.

I should also be getting out for walks in the neighborhood more but, as I’ve said, I find it unpleasant these days because of the constant need to slalom around those I pass on the sidewalk.

Speaking of life during the pandemic, I think this is clever:

My cupboard is no longer bare. Groceries arrived right on schedule this morning, minus only two items that were sold-out: bacon bits and bubbly. I feel more secure having enough food in the house, and Molly has assured she’ll help me place the next order, which is truly beyond my capability. Now the problem around here is that I have so many choices of things to nibble on that I’m grazing my way through all of them. Yogurt. Banana. Cheese. Chips. Chocolate. Unfortunately the refrigerator is exactly two steps from my bedroom.

  1. The eyebrow of the Vizsla amuses me – and makes me think of it as being a stern and questioning judge in a court of law. All it lacks is a wig.

    Funny video! Fanks.

  2. WOW that is quite a challenging angle to get right on a doggo and I have to say you really capture some super cute personality. This was a good post but now I’m hungry dangit…
