Obsession

Well, Marianna, I don’t know about this. Since we got back in touch, I’ve gone ape-shite about yarn. You know so much about so many kinds of yarn and techniques and patterns and all, that I am having a hard time curbing my enthusiasm.

This was a perfectly valid purchase: hand-painted yarn to make a washcloth with.

Well, maybe I didn’t need to go with hand-painted, but it was so beautiful. And maybe I didn’t need to buy two skeins, when one would suit perfectly well.  But it’s so pretty, my eyes just feast on it.

Speaking of eyes, I found an old picture of myself from a year-and-a-half ago, when I was sick. I was surprised to see how thin and sick I looked. Check it out.

Speaking of “surprise,” that’s the name of this yarn that I just ordered. I bought the last two balls of it, even though one would have sufficed. But what if I love it and wish I had more. Isn’t it lovely? It reminds me of a stained glass window.

And Marianna told me about a German company whose yarn has a cult following. I got three balls of that, just to see what all the hoopla is about.

Great colors, huh? But not enough. They make different kinds of variegated yarns but you can’t get them new. You have to find them on Ravelry. Here’s one that I’ve been corresponding with its owner about. It costs $32. I wonder if I should get it. The seller says that it’s “WD,” and, even though Marianna tried to explain that to me, I don’t know what it means. Does it mean that some of it has been used already, and ripped back out? Or that some of it is missing?

Do you see a trend in the colors I choose? They all match my eyes, except for the red colors. I dreamed last night, however, that one of my eyes turned red and I had to rush to the doctor, who couldn’t help me.

  1. wd = we’re different. you get the whole banana, but, the color has no name. perhaps she did a practice run and decided to change it up. she has her reasons. i have many wd. they’re perfectly fine if one likes the color.
damn ginna, you do look sick in the picture. even i with the massive heart attack, bypass surgery and pulmonary embolism never looked that bad. what happened?
