Editor’s Note, late January: I did make it to the meeting, where I got the following comments from the critique lady:
“The bicycle one is too busy to my eye. But these might make good travel photos.”
Oh well.
Original Post, January 1:
I’ve finally worked up the nerve to attend a meeting of a local photo users’ group next week. By Sunday night I need to have picked out two images for critique. I’ve whittled the six thousand (no joke) I took in South Asia down to nine and now I’m stuck. Your vote on your favorite two would be more helpful than you could possibly realize. I need opinions by this Sunday night, January 4.
As before: When you click on each thumbnail below, its one-word slug will show up in white letters under the bottom row of thumbnails. Click on that link for a full-sized picture.
Beneath the photos is where you cast your vote. It’s all anonymous and doesn’t require logging in or anything. Really, many thanks.
Begging for a happy new year for us all,
Ginna

Two is unfair. Three would have been kinder to your voters. If so, I would have chosen Walking. Beehive is amazing. Incense is unexpected, and I like that. Thanks, Ginna!
I chose two. But it’s kinder hard to see the photos when they’re so small, even when I select them.
Looking forward to seeing a book of your trip if you decide to create one.
Beehive is my fav. The picture reminds me of where I grew up.
Also love “working”.
2 is hard to choose, they’re all so good.
They are, of course, all beautiful. I would have voted for Doors as well and Rickshaw was close, too.
Best wishes for a wonderful 2009! Hope to see you soon! xxoo
i voted…great pics! lemme know how 1st photo group mtg + critique went.
You are extraordinary in your desire to include your friends in this evaluation process. These photos are wondrous. I hope a lot of people will get to see them. Thank you.fHHi Sagan

Girl, you have the eye, the knack. The geometry of Beehives is exquisite.
2 is so not enough; I viewed all on the date sent, and let the images “simmer” in my brain, and chose the 2 that moved me the most, trying to let go of what I think the pros might look for in a pro-critique setting….so after a few days, I had to commit. I loved ’em all, and really look forward to the photojournalist’s/artist’s inside story of how these potent images came to be collected….I also really liked your captioning of the photos; i.e. no extra syllables, even, just the clear essence.
