This all looks like a wonderful place. Can you swim in the lake or will things eat you? Millions of species of insects coming up? That is too much to contemplate. I have been electrocuting flies with the fly electrocution device for two days now. They are still coming out of the ceiling and I do not feel in the least bit sorry for them. I watched as one got caught in the wires of my worthy electrical zapper and he smoldered away to nothing. This caused the room to smell like a burned toenail - whoops, there goes another one. Zzzzzzztzztzztzztzz...poof! So it goes here in my warm and small room. Whew! Burned toenails. Open the door! Look out for those insects in Costa Rica, Gin.
